Manson celebrated May Day by participating in the Bridgeport Invitational with 16 other schools. It was almost an historic night, as the boys team placed 2nd overall, and missed out of winning the meet by only 4 points.
(Figuring out when their events start...)
Frankly, I think we won the meet, but missed out of some points on some scorekeeping errors by the Bridgeport faithful. That's ok, we will know in our hearts we were the best that night!
We had several kids win events.
Marcus completed the historic triple victory, winning the 800, 1600, and 3200. It was a courageous effort.
Casey had a big night as well, winning the shot and disc, both with big prs. His shot put was over 47', which ranks him 3rd in state right now.
Bailey had a great 100m, winning that event.
Paul had a very eventful evening, placing 2nd in the triple jump with a new pr, 3rd in the 800m in a 4 second pr, and 7th in the 100m, also in a new pr!!
Alex placed 5th in both the shot and discus, his shot put effort breaking the 40' mark for the first time!
Sam placed 4th in the 3200 and 5th in the 1600.
Joe demolished his 800m pr by 8 seconds!
Ty placed 7th in the long jump.
Also competing were Willy,
Kelly,
and Bridger.
Jorge was out with a groin pull.
The girls were led by Natalie who threw well in all 3 of her events.
Steph broke the 31 second mark for the first time this year in the 200.
Eli had a 2 second pr in the 200.
Other girls competing this meet were Ofelia, Aylee,
Jaque,
Raechel,
Makenzie,
and Thalia.
Cheyanne was ready to run but her coach forgot to enter her in any events.
Itzel was out with a leg injury that she hurt playing soccer a couple of days ago.
