Quincy Invitational

On Saturday, April 24th, we went to Quincy for their invitational.  There were 20 schools there.  It was sunny,  but very windy, which made the conditions a little challenging.  Our numbers were down a little bit since some of the athletes had other conflicts that did not allow them to come.

With our small numbers I thought we still had some good results despite the difficult conditions.

Our athlete of the meet was definitely Cheyanne McFadden.  She ran a pr in the 3200 and 1600.  Those are  tough events to do in the same meet and she performed admirably.

Adriana Guzman ran a 15 second pr in the 1600, running with Cheyanne most of the race.

Bronte Toolson got a 2 foot pr in the triple jump.

Ofelia Rodriguez got a pr in the 100m.

Another notable performance was by Jesse Russell in the 1600, knocking off 14 seconds his previous best.

Mykah Hall got a pr in the javelin.

Our lone point scorer was by Marcus Vanderholm in the 800 by finishing 7th.

Hopefully by our next meet we will have all our runners back and ready to go.

I should mention our other athletes that competed today.  Bailey Stevens in the 100 and 200, Paul Toolson in the 400 and 800, Thalia Lepley in the 100, and Kyla Chavolla in the 3200 and javelin.  Kudos to them for sacrificing their saturday to participate.

Also thanks to the parents who made the trip out.  Ofelia's parents, Bailey's parents, Jesse's mom, and Paul and Bronte's mom.  Any support we get is appreciated.
