The Manson Track and Field team began their season on Tuesday in Wenatachee. It was a large field of competition, as there were over 800 athletes competing in the meet. The weather was decent, about mid 40s, partly cloudy, and not too much of a wind.
Manson brought along 24 students to compete. Of those, 7 were involved in their first ever high school track meet. I thought it was a great opportunity for those kids to get broken in and for the more experienced runners to be able to shake the cobwebs loose after having 10 months off.
There was no team score kept today, just individual times and distances. We had several athletes get their personal bests even though it was only the first meet of the season.

Casey Sorenson got a pr in the javelin.
Paul Toolson got 2 prs in the javelin and the 400m.
Jesse Russell got a pr in the 400.
Marcus Vanderholm got 2 prs in the 100m and 200m.
Ty Harding got a pr in the long jump.
Itzel Castro got 2 prs in the discus and 100m.
Natalie Martinez got a pr in the discus.

Sam Thomas in the 3200m and 400m.
Willy Picton in the 400m, discus, javelin, and shot put.
Joseph Toolson in the 100m, 800m, and the javelin.
Aylee Neff in the 100m, 200m, 4x100m, and the long jump.
Raechel Vanderholm in the discus and 200m.
Jorge Tejada in the 100m and 4x100m.
Kelly McClellan in the shot put and discus.

Adriana Guzman in the 400m, 800m, and long jump.
Cheyanne McFadden in the 1600m and 800m.
Thalia Lepley in the 800m, long jump, and discus.
Bridger Machus in the 100m and long jump.
